The aim of the Program for Theatre Arts is to develop and nurture the future artists of Israeli theatre. We train outstanding students in the field to become professionals in the field of theatrical arts and to care deeply about culture.  We aspire to promote and raise involved and principled citizens who are invested in their art, on one hand, and contribute to the society in which they live, on the other. The Program’s teachers are leading active artists in their fields in all areas of the theatre world in Israel.  During their studies, the Program’s students acquire many and varied theatrical skills and tools which enable them to work in this field in the best way possible:

  • Acting,  directing, dance, vocal training, musicals, speech and textual training, improvisation, set design and lighting.

  • Developing self-expression: sensory awareness, developing the body and vocal training as vehicles of expression, developing improvisation abilities and emotional expressiveness.

  • Emphasizing work as an ensemble and cooperation with the school’s other programs.

  • Participating in performances and artistic events.

  • Attending a wide range of repertory performances offered by Israeli theatre.

In addition, the students gain experience in a wide ranges of drama styles: realistic, dance-theater and musicals.

  • They become acquainted with various production professions – lighting, set design, sound etc. The 9th and 10th graders work as technical crew in the 11th and 12th graders’ productions.

  • Students attend master classes with leading artists from the theatre world in which various issues related to acting and production are discussed.

  • The students are very active on a social level. “The Students Council” promotes various projects for the students’ wellbeing and contributes to the community in a variety of ways.

  • Social activities are held throughout the year. These have become a tradition and are an important part of the students’ experience.
