
Theoretical studies
All students at Telma Yellin must complete a regular theoretical matriculation examination, in addition to the artistic major in which they are studying. The subjects for the matriculation certificate are divided into two groups: general theoretical subjects, which include compulsory and elective subjects, and the unique subjects in the fields of art.
Elective subjects
In addition to the matriculation exams in the compulsory subjects and the art majors, you can expand and take the exam in 5 study units in one of the compulsory subjects or one of the elective subjects: Biology, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, and Social Sciences.
We recommend that you choose one additional advanced subject.

Compulsory subjects
In order to be eligible for a matriculation certificate, you must take the following subjects:
Language and Expression 2 credits
Literature 2 credits
Civics 2 credits
Bible 2 credits
History 2 credits
Mathematics 3, 4 or 5 study units
English 5 credits
Art major - 5 credits in at least one of the majors.

Advanced subjects

Advanced Sciences
Do numbers and formulas come easily to you?
You can choose one of the following subjects, at an advanced level of 5 study units: Physics, Biology and Computer Science.
Laboratory equipment is available to you to enrich your studies, which allows for the integration of a laboratory exam as part of the advanced matriculation exam.
The choice of one of these subjects is made towards the 10th grade.
You can study a science subject at an advanced level only if you study mathematics at an advanced level.
It is also possible to study chemistry at an advanced level, through a special online program ("Chemistry Online").
Advanced Foreign language
Another mother tongue?
French, Arabic, Italian, Spanish and Russian, can be studied independently and tested in the matriculation exams at the 5-unit level, in accordance with the Ministry of Education guidelines.
The choice of an additional foreign language is made towards the 10th grade.
Thesis
Want to decide for yourself? You can write a thesis in any subject, up to 5 study units.
The status of the thesis is as an enhanced subject status. The selection and approval of the thesis are made in the 11th grade.
Advanced literacy
Are words your passion? You can choose literature at an advanced level of 5 study units.
Literature is chosen as an advanced subject towards the 10th grade.
Advanced Social Sciences
You can also choose social sciences at the level of 5 study units. The program includes the subjects: Psychology 2 units, Sociology 2 units, and submitting a research paper worth one study unit.
Additional requirements for matriculation

Mandatory learning and internal assessment in the science subject, "Introduction to Biology", taught in grade 10 regardless of the extended subject.
